introduction

To discuss network theorem and analysis we should to know some essential terms. Today I will discuss about with this terms.

simple network

1. Network: any arrangement of electrical energy source, resistance, and capacitance and circuit element is called network that means electric network.
In the figure at the top is a network.

2. Active element: an active element is one which supplies energy to the circuit.
In this figure E1 and E2 are active element because they supplies energy to the circuit.

3. Passive element: passive element is one which receives electrical energy and then either converts it into heat (resistance) or stores in an electrical field (capacitance) or magnetic field (inductor)
In this figure R1, R2and R3 are passive element.

4. Node: a node of a network is an equipment surface at which two or more circuit elements are joined.
In this figure E1 and R1 are joined at A point and A point is a node .similarly point B, C, D are nodes.

5. Junction: a junction is that point a network where three or more circuit element are joined.
In this figure there are two junction this is B and D because the B point  there are three circuit element are connected they are R1 , R2 and R3.similarly the point D is a junction.

6. Branch: a branch is that part of a network which lies between two junction points.
There are three branches in this figure they are BAD, BCD and BD.

7. Loop: a loop is any closed path of a network. Thus In this figure ABDA, BCDB and ABCDA are the loop.

8. Mesh: a mesh is the most elementary from of a loop and cannot bee further divided into other loop.
In this figure bot loops ABDA and BCDB qualify as mesh because they cannot be further divided into other loops.
However, the loops ABCDA cannot be called a mesh because it encloses two loops ABDA and BCDB.
