D.C circuit

To discuss d.c circuit we should to learn what is a circuit.my previous lesion I was discuss about this with the lesson electrical circuit.

We started with d.c circuit because before discuss a.c circuit we should to know the d.d circuit. For that at first I discuss about d.c circuit.

What is a d.c circuit?

The closed path followed by direct current (d.c) is called d.c circuit

There are three types of d.c circuit

1. Series circuit
2. Parallel circuit.
3. series-parallel circuit.

This lesion I discuss about series circuit.

Series circuit: the current in which resistance or any other element are connected end to end so that there are only one path for current flow.
series circuit
equivalent series circuit

Consider three resistors at the left side R1, R2 and R3 ohms are connected in series across a battery of V volt is this figure.by ohm’s law V 2=IR1 , V2=IR2 and V3=IR3
Now, V=V1+V2+V3
            =IR1+IR2+IR3
           =I (R1+R2+R3)
      V/I=R1+R2+R3
But V/I are the total resistance RT between A and B. RT is called total equivalent resistance of this three resistance.at the right side show equivalent circuit.

The important note for series circuit

1.The current flowing in all parts of the circuit is to same. However, the voltage across each element will depend upon the resistance.

2.The total power consumed in the series circuit is equal to the sum of the power consumed by the individual resistance.

3.Current will be same in the series circuit.

4.Voltage will be varying with the value of resistor.

Dis-advantage of series circuit:

1. If a break occurs in any part of the circuit, no current will flow and the entries circuit become unless

2. Series circuit is not practicable for lighting circuit.
